Ball Bounce & Character Anticipate and Jump
TVpaint is a dream come true for a traditionally 2D artist like me. It's like Photoshop and Flash(Animate?) had a genetically engineered baby. On to the animation, though.
That ball was a bit of a pain in the ass to do, mostly because of my own mistakes. When I animated it first, it seemed to be going way too fast, only for me to realise that I had been animating on 24fps instead of 12 -.- Then, when I changed it, I didn't realise I could just make the frames lengthen so I wouldn't lose them, so I lost half of the animation and had to redo them. The final product is okay, although looking at other people's work, it seems I don't really get how shadows work. Who knew they could be in two places at once? Ah well. It was a learning experience.
As for the character, I found it very fun to animate. Something I am particularly proud of is the second turn/look it makes to its right. We were given the shape of the left turn, but not the right, and initially I did it as more of a twist upwards before realising that the first turn was actually more of a twist down. This majorly improved the animation and just goes to show how important sorting out your keyframes can be.
